Welcome to the on-line portfolio of the past and present artwork of Tari Kerss. Present artwork consists of projects currently being created and falling within the last five years. Past Artworks covers work created from 1982 to 2011.
Tari's passion for the visual arts and textiles began at a young age. She pursued these interests earning a Bachelors Degree in fine arts from San Francisco State University, and a Master of Fine Arts, emphasis in Textiles from California College of the Arts, Oakland California.
To view Tari's work in fiber look in the "PAST" tab, which begins with handwoven tapestry, moves through a period of functionally woven pieces and ends with sculptural forms.
Tari's current work in the "Present" has shifted into photographic imagery; capturing the sensibilities of color, texture, pattern and abstraction in nature. The photographic images are printed on fine art archival paper and /or woven into tapestries on a jacquard loom in a North Carolina textile mill.
