about throws

A simplification into the rectangular format of the throws allowed me to focus entirely on weaving: color, texture and structure. The layout and color composition for these throws were chosen from many watercolor renderings made to achieve an appealing design. The color palette and yarns were chosen. Then samples were woven on a handloom in order to find the correct density, texture, weave structure, drape and hand for the fabric. Once this was determined, a very wide floor loom with a fly shuttle attachment was warped and the individual throws each handwoven according to the predetermined design.
