The sculptural work on this page of the website exhibits a transition from the previous artwork and concerns of the double sided scrolls, into three dimensional sculptural forms that express personal imagery from dreams and psychological underpinnings. The stitched and dyed silk fabrics of the scrolls, actually became wrapped and manipulated over the reed and structural materials of basketry, in an effort to take on dimensionality that is not just double sided but voluminous.

This process of transition from two to three dimensions began with the imagery of shields and shifted into an alembic or teardrop shape, perhaps expressing a psychological state of defense giving way to openness and vulnerability. At a certain point I chose the teardrop form as the focus for my departure into the rendering of three dimensional form in fiber, and the expressive symbol of my concerns
